Hello, my lovely friends!

I want to catch you up on all the changes around here lately.

You’ve probably noticed the new name: The Cost of Functioning.

So many of us are holding it all together, getting everything done, and looking completely fine from the outside, and that’s exactly why nobody asks what it’s costing us. Including us. Functioning by everyone else’s definition comes with a bill, and it usually shows up as exhaustion, illness, grief, or a life that doesn’t quite feel like yours.

Everything I write, film, and record now lives in one place under that idea.

Here’s what you can expect moving forward. Everything falls into five categories:

• Through trauma and grief. This is the OG for my long-time readers. What trauma and loss cost, and why healing isn’t a finish line.

• At work. What it costs to be the one everyone escalates to and nobody checks on.

• In the body. When your body sends bills nobody will read.

• At home. The cost of functioning inside a good relationship, where nobody’s the villain, and you still find yourself disappearing to make it work.

• Underneath it all. The Spiral framework itself, the science behind it, and the deeper pieces that tie everything together.

Then, each week, I will send a Weekly Digest like this (usually shorter). I will include the new articles, resources, and upcoming events. It may also contain digest-only material each week, hint hint wink wink.

Now, I want you to be in charge of your own inbox. I made a SIMPLE one-question survey asking how often you want to hear about new articles, videos, podcast episodes, and resources.

And if this publication isn’t for you anymore, I totally get it! No hard feelings if you need to unsubscribe. I’ll miss you, and you can always find me here or on TikTok.

Talk soon,

Over the past 2 weeks, I have looked into each terrain of The Spiral through the lens of Taylor Swift’s four new songs on The Encore. There is 1 article per song and my final thoughts.

Free posts will always help you name what’s happening to and around you. Paid is where we actually do something about it.

• Deep dives. Every free piece names a problem. Its paid companion walks you through what to do about it, like the Crash Audit for the days after you finally stop, or the Capacity Ledger for finding out what an ordinary week is really costing you.

• A weekly micro-moments thread. Once a week, we share the smallest thing that felt safe. Answering the phone. Sending the text without rereading it ten times. It sounds tiny, and that’s the point: your brain learns safety through repetition, not size. I’ll be in there with you.

• Your questions, answered. Once a month, I’ll take some of what members are carrying and respond.

• The tools. Worksheets you can actually use, like the Capacity Ledger and the Crash Audit, yours to keep.

If you’re already a paid member, thank you. You’re the reason I get to keep doing this.
