Most guidance assumes you have something to work with.
It assumes you can make a decision, hold a plan, feel your feelings on request, and take one small step toward something better. It assumes the tank is low, not empty. It assumes what you need is a nudge.
If you’re in the Ashes, you don’t need a nudge. You need someone to stop asking you for things.
So before anything else, here is the whole guide in one page. If you read nothing further, this is the part that matters. Everything after it is optional depth for when you have more to spend.
YOU ARE HERE: ASHES
What may be happening: your system has cut power to anything not required for survival.
What you may notice: flatness, fog, heaviness, time going strange, small sounds feeling like assaults, exhaustion that won’t convert into sleep.
What matters right now: food, water, medication, rest, one safe contact, fewer decisions.
What can wait: the plan. The conversation. The decision. The version of you that has energy.
What makes this harder: treating conservation as failure. Adding shame to exhaustion.
What you’re looking for: not Rise. Ember. A flicker of irritation. A preference. Wanting something. Noticing that something bothered you.
Your job here is not to manufacture movement. It’s to make enough room that movement becomes available again.
